The main aim of the OSIRIS project initiative is to provide structured information and models for decision makers (European Commission, Member States, Associated Countries) who develop cross border public-public partnerships and who establish a coordinated approach to future large scale investments in transnational European ICT research infrastructures. This will lead to complementary or common planning of investments and investment policies in order to obtain sustainable European ICT research infrastructures and it will allow the development of procedures, rules and management mechanisms for coordinated investments in large scale transnational ICT research infrastructures in Europe. The focus is on ICT research infrastructures: high performance computing (e.g. PRACE), distributed computing (e.g. EGI), networking (e.g. GÉANT), micro and nano electronics (e.g. Imec, CEA-Leti, CSEM, Tyndall), data (e.g. LifeWatch, Elixir) and future internet (e.g. FIRE).
